I was wrong! And not happy with the leaves. So they have been changed. I'll be sure to show the color final so you can see these changes.

Don, glad I at least "make" it look easy. In a some ways this process makes things a "little" quicker for me. And using an under painting seems to give a lot of depth to the CP's.

Jen, it is graphite on paper drawn by hand. I just did the glass on a velum overlay and scanned it into Photoshop (and a separate Layer)so I could adjust the value and decide on the effect I wanted. This also gave me the ability to play with the transparency. After I finish my B&W graphite drawing I scan it and print it out on my art paper anyway. This then becomes the "base" for my color final. I'm trying to use technology to speed things up where I can. I might try coloring that layer in Photoshop before I print it out. I did a similar thing on my "First Snow" piece with great success.

I'll go label my earlier Work-in-progress posts in case you want to take a look.gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15291909095989120673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437676309202233261.post-90011565269008206232007-10-04T15:44:00.000-07:002007-10-04T15:44:00.000-07:00Wow! I love watching art-in-progress, though how it's actually done mystifies me.

Beautiful, Gail. Are you drawing by hand on paper then scanning into the computer, or do you use a digital tablet, or something else? You said you're using graphite, so this must be on paper and scanned, right? Yet you made the window a separate layer. Is it a separate drawing?

Will we see the color version?JenFWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04426266278784991887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437676309202233261.post-29943149267148844282007-10-01T14:50:00.000-07:002007-10-01T14:50:00.000-07:00wonderful work - I also can't wait to see it in co...wonderful work - I also can't wait to see it in colorAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437676309202233261.post-11254543040714375292007-10-01T04:26:00.000-07:002007-10-01T04:26:00.000-07:00Still in awe.Still in awe.LindaBudzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09290094983584931044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437676309202233261.post-61994228165522329582007-09-30T18:34:00.000-07:002007-09-30T18:34:00.000-07:00This is great.
