Eggs in the Mail

Getting mail that isn't a bill or junk is always so much fun. Especially a package. An unexpected, surprise package, with your name on it just sitting there waiting to be opened. I got one of those yesterday! The return address said: Little, Brown & Company. Now, if I had had any submissions there right now, my mind would have been running wild with possibilities. But I didn't. So I knew right away what was in the package. EGGS!

My very own, advance reading copy, of EGGS, thanks to being in the right place at the right time. (See how at Blue Rose Girls.) I think this is a great parallel to how things can happen in the publishing world. Sometimes it just takes being in the right place at the right time. Thanks Alvina!

Thanks for the tip on the Blue Rose Girls! I especially loved looking at Anna's work process.

Sorry for the delete--wanted to change something and couldn't.
I just checked out The Blue Rose Girls earlier this week, after reading about it on Grace Lin's blog.
P.S. I'm "tagging" you--with apologies if it is unwelcome. If you would like to participate, see instructions on my blog at http://conniesartattack.blogspot.com/

I have to admit The Blue Rose Girls are the ones who got me reading blogs on a daily basis. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Tagged, eh. Not unwelcome at all, but Connie I don't see the instructions on your blog?

While you are revising and rewriting and rewriting and revising... remember to enter the Smart Writers W.I.N. contest by May 1st for the year 2007. I'll be looking for you in the winners column!

I'll be sure to ginger. And I'll be looking for you too!

With all the writing, revising, etc. you'd think I would be able to enter a ms. too, but I have found my work has to have the illustrations shown with it. They become so much a part of the story; its like pieces are missing when you don't get to see the pictures. It doesn't look like they are doing a Dummy Book category this year. Oh well.
