Drawing Mary Part 4


...and now you know who Mary is! I have one more step to post on this black and white under painting. I'm still working on the value of the background and creating the glass itself. I feel I need to push the reflective quality to distinguish between inside and outside.

Fantastic! But I am a little confused by the branches, which seem to be on both sides of the window?

Linda, all the branches are outside. :) But some are reflections. I'm trying to create more depth in the piece. Pretty tricky scenario with the reflections outside and Mary inside. I'm still working on it. It's nice to get all of this solved in the value study, then I can sit back and enjoy adding color. I think on this piece though the color will help define what I can't in black in white.
